Fautore Applications

Fautore itself doesn't "do" anything on it's own. It is a message routing system. You could think of it as a street intersection. A lot of time and effort goes into designing and building the intersection to get the lane configuration and stoplight timings to function as efficiently as possible. If however, there was not traffic coming to the intersection all that work would be for naught. The well organized lanes would have no cars, trucks, or pedestrians to route and the stoplights would have no traffic to direct.

It's the same with Fautore. At least one OSA/OCE compliant application must be registered with Fautore in order to provide data for Fautore to direct. Fautore does not initiate communications, but rather traffics communications between different applications, with the exception of internally generated messages to communicate some internal status information.

Available Applications

The below table lists applications provided with, or intended to be provided with, Fautore as a bundle at installation time. This is not a comprehensive list in regard to intended applications, but in this case only those most likely to be seen in the near future. Click the application name link for full information about the application, including installation instructions.

Registration

Application registration is the act of an external application, as described above, requesting to be registered with the OCE(Fautore) so that data can be exchanged between the two. Registration is actually initiated from the application requesting to be registered with the OCE. Once successfully registered the application must be "Approved" for use through the OCE. In Fautore this is done by clicking the "External Applications" button in the main button bar of the main screen.

The "External Applications" button will only appear if an application has been registered. There is no reason for the button to appear until an application is registered and it's presence would be confusing. Applications are registered from individually per the instructions of each application. Click the name of an application rated as a "3" for it's availability in the above table for application specific registration instructions.
Once the "External Applications" button is clicked the "External Applications" screen will appear. Any newly registered applications will be awaiting approval. Only the Chieftain can approve an application for use by selecting "Approved" from the dropdown and clicking "Apply Changes" directly above the dropdown.
